Charles Dunsdon landed at Gallipoli in April 1915 with the 3rd Field Company Engineers. In August he developed pleurisy and was hospitalised in Cairo. In March 1916 he was promoted to 2nd Lieutenant with the 4th Field Company Engineers and arrived in France in June. Eight weeks after being promoted to Lieutenant in June, he was killed in action at Pozieres and buried where he fell. After the war his grave could not be found.
