Military Cross citation: "This officer whilst acting as Battalion Transport Officer has done exceptionally good work in taking supplies up to the front line during active operations. On many occasions, by his coolness, courage and determination he has taken his transport and pack mules safely through heavy enemy barrages, and never once failed in delivering rations and supplies to the front line troops. His never flagging energy and constant care have kept the Battalion Transport in a high state of efficiency." (Awarded 3 June 1919)
