Donald Fraser arrived in France in November 1916 and transferred to the 19th Battalion. In February 1917 he was hospitalised with scabies and in June with defective vision. In Belgium in October he was killed in action at Poelcappelle during the Battle of Passchendaele. He has no known grave.
