Brother of 3229 Lance-Corporal Alexander Raff MM.

 

Francis Raff arrived in France in January 1918 and transferred to the 2nd Machine Gun Battalion. In May he was wounded in action in a gas attack and hospitalised in France, re-joining his unit in July. Five weeks later he was wounded by a gunshot to his chest and evacuated to England. He returned to Australia in February 1919.
