Francis Wilson arrived in France in April 1916. He was wounded in action in February 1917 and admitted to Rouen Hospital, re-joining his unit in Belgium in October. On 4 November near Broodseinde Ridge, he was wounded in action and evacuated to the 2nd Canadian Casualty Clearing Station where he died of his wounds eight days later.
