Brother of 5089 Private Ralph Richard Usher.

 

Frank Usher was only 16 when he enlisted (as 18). His older brother Ralph had enlisted two months earlier aged 17. Frank arrived in France in March 1917 following several months of machine gun training in England. In Belgium he was wounded in action at Ypres on 20 September 1917 and died later that day. He was only 17.
