Frank Walker arrived in France from England in May 1917. In October he was hospitalised in Belgium with influenza and myalgia and transferred to England for further treatment. He returned to his unit in Belgium in February 1918. On 8 August in France he was wounded in action near Biaches and evacuated to the 7th Australian Field Ambulance where he died the same day. He was only 20.
