Frederick Hudson landed at Gallipoli in May 1915. In August he was evacuated to Egypt with influenza then returned to Gallipoli. In October he was sent to Malta with rheumatic fever and then transferred to London’s 5th General Hospital. In April 1916 he was discharged to Perham Down camp for training before being sent to France in July where he joined the 7th Australian Machine Gun Company as a driver. In Belgium in October near Lijssenthoek he received multiple shrapnel wounds and was evacuated to the Casualty Clearing Station at Remy Siding where he died the same day.
