George William BROWN

George Brown trained at the Grantham Machine Gun School from June 1917, transferred to the 25^th Machine Gun Company in August and arrived in France in September. In April 1918 he was wounded in action by gas and was hospitalised at Camiers, re-joining his unit in June. He was severely wounded in the chest by gunshots in September and evacuated to Birmingham’s 1^st Southern General Hospital. He returned to Australia in January 1919 and was discharged in April.
