James Robinson landed at Gallipoli on 25 April. In July he was hospitalised in Malta but returned to Gallipoli from September to December. He arrived in France in March 1916. In July he was reported "missing believed killed" during fighting at Petillion. A year later a Court of Enquiry confirmed he had been killed in action. His body was never found.
