Leo Crowe arrived in England in September 1918 allotted to the 15th Battalion. He landed in France in January 1919 and transferred to the 4th Australian Motor Transport Company assisting the Australian Graves Detachment to exhume and re-bury war dead in an area of Northern France where the AIF had fought. He returned to Australia in December, aged 21.
