Brother of 5322 Private Sydney Leake Cousens (KIA).

 

Stanley Cousens was among the first Australians to land at Gallipoli. In August 1915 he was hospitalised in England with influenza. He re-joined his battalion in Egypt in January 1916 and was promoted to Sergeant. He landed in France in June and was killed in action at Pozieres on 9 August. He was 25. His body was never found.
