Brother of 3950 Private George Henry Townson (KIA)

 

Stanley Townson was transferred to the 9th Battalion in Egypt and arrived in France in April 1916. In July he was wounded in action and hospitalised in Rouen. In Belgium in March 1918 he was wounded in action at Hollebeke. On 18 September in France he was killed in action near Bullecourt. He was 24.
