Brother of 1402 Private John Hallinan Dalton.

 

William Dalton arrived in France in May 1916 and transferred to 1st Australian Tunnelling Company. In Belgium near Ypres in May 1917 he was wounded in the head by shrapnel and died of his wounds the same day. He was buried at Zillebeke three days later.
