Brother of 7002 Private William Ernest Lowry.

 

Thomas Lowry transferred to the newly-raised 47th Battalion in Egypt and arrived in France in June 1916. He was wounded in action in November and hospitalised in England, returning to his unit in France in May 1917. Three weeks later he was killed in action at Messines, Belgium. He was only 20. His body was never found.
