Donald Fraser arrived in France in November 1916 and transferred to the 19th Battalion. In February 1917 he was hospitalised with scabies and again in June with defective vision. In Belgium on 9 October he was killed in action at Poelcappelle during the Battle of Passchendaele. He has no known grave.
