John Deazeley was with the first Australian regiment to land at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915. He was killed on 28 June during the 9th Battalion's diversionary attack on Gaba Tepe from Holly Ridge.

25 soldiers named on the Roll of Honour died during the Gallipoli campaign.
