Brother of 41 Lance Corporal William Henry Chamberlin.
Samuel Chamberlin arrived in France in June 1916. In August he was wounded in his left thigh and evacuated to Lord Derby Military Hospital at Warrington. In February 1917 he returned to Australia and was discharged in May.
